1. Public Prosecutor
Educational Qualification: Must be a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or Provincial Act) or an Institution recognized by the Govt. of Assam or University Grants Commission .
Service Qualification: Must have practiced as a regular Advocate for not less than 8 (eight) years including practice before the High Court basically on the criminal side.
2. Additional Public Prosecutor
Educational Qualification: Must be a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or Provincial Act) or an Institution recognized by the Govt. of Assam or University Grants Commission .
Service Qualification: Must have practiced as a regular Advocate for not less than 7 (seven) years including practice before the High Court basically on the criminal side.
3. Special Public Prosecutor

Age Limit for Home & Political Department Jobs
- The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/2023.
Pay Scale for Home & Political Department Jobs
- Public Prosecutor- Pay: Rs. 65000-112000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 18500 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible.
- Additional Public Prosecutor- Pay: Rs. 30,000 – 1,10,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 17500 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible
